South Hampshire is well connected by transport - there are motorway links, rail links, international air and ferry links; as well as local walking and cycling routes. TfSH want to achieve a high level of accessibility for living, work and leisure in South Hampshire.
South Hampshire sits next to some major tourist attractions, and itself is a gateway to the South of England from the continent. The New Forest National Park and the proposed South Downs National Park border the region. The Solent provides leisure opportunities along the coastal region, and across to the Isle of Wight. Cross-channel ferries depart from Portsmouth offering further opportuinities on the continent. Southampton offers more international destinations in the cruise business and from the airport.
